Lynda Webster sent these two pictures from the Hooper Cemetery in Jackson CO, NC.  There is some thought that they might be the stones of Samuel and Elizabeth Chastain Denton.

She says:   "On one marker is Samuel Denton. The one beside it has Denton, but it's virtually impossible to read a given name.  At one time I thought it might say Coward Denton or David Denton, but I think it will be better not to try to give a given name at all.  No dates, of course. This is in a row of very old stones.  Reading from the left they go like this:  two unmarked stones, Coward, Martha Coward, Illegible stone (in other words, I believe it was marked--just can't read it), Samuel Denton ? Dento_, two unmarked.  After that, the row finishes with WOODs and HOOPERs, and they all have dates.  I remember when I was there with her, she thought it was a marker for Elizabeth and that her body was sent back or just a marker erected.  These are some of the older markers, with the exception of the rock markers. Anyway, it is the Hooper cemetary on Caney Fork.  This is the area the Dentons lived when they first came to Haywood County, NC."

Thanks to Carol Jean Denton Smith of Oregon for sending these photos of her family's graves.   Gatha was first wife of Isom Odell Denton,  Bobby Joe was
youngest son of Isom Odell Denton, and Luverta was his eldest daughter with Gatha.   The man himself,  Isom Odell Denton, was quite a famous man in the area of Ash Flat and Center Arkansas. Center is just a ghost town almost now. The stones are in the Center and Ash Flat Cemetaries.
